When it comes to Instagrammable interiors, the powder room is an unlikely hero: nail your design and it’ll ensure your guests are firmly wowed. We’ve enlisted a few interior designers to give us all the best powder room ideas.

Bathroom Trends 2025: Powder Room Ideas From Interior Designers

Got your eye on all of the buzzy bathroom trends for 2025? While natural stone, pops of green, and dark fittings are set to dominate this year, the experts are predicting a rather different style when it comes to powder rooms. These spaces, after all, are much more compact – which means you can go for a much bolder look. Read on for some powder room ideas from interior designers.

Bold Colours

‘Powder rooms are fantastic spaces for creative expression,’ says Ed O’Donnell, creative director of Angel O’Donnell. ‘At The OWO Residences, we treated the guest WC to a dazzling marbleised wallpaper. Its psychedelic swirls and colours are hypnotic. It really packs a punch – and just goes to show how much energy a small space can take.’

While there are plenty of opportunities to experiment, Ed also notes that working with a smaller room gives you the option to rethink and redesign if your original vision doesn’t come to life. ‘The small dimensions of a powder room are easy to manage, so if you felt you’d gone too far with an idea you had for acid-bright colour blocking or wall-to-wall disco ball tiles, it’s less of an upheaval to undo your handiwork and start from scratch,’ he explains. Of course, this also means you can change up the look whenever you feel like it…

Luxurious Marble

If bright colours and dizzying patterns aren’t your style, you can’t go wrong with a bit of sleek marble – which pairs particularly well with colour-drenched walls.

The powder room is the perfect place to carve out a design statement away from the rest of the home through bold paint colours, wallpaper, and decorative accents such as mirrors and wall lighting,’ says Claire Sá, co-founder of De Rosee Sa.

You can always count on a jaw-dropping marble vanity unit to take centre stage, beautifully tying together your other accessories (like this elegant wavy mirror) to create a truly enviable space.

Intricate Wallpaper

Another way to make a statement is, of course, using intricate patterns, helping your powder room to feel like a kind of wonderland hidden within your home. Romanos Brihi, co-founder and partner of Studio Vero, reflects on a particularly memorable project which ‘featured walls and ceilings in Jennifer Shorto’s “Constellation” wallpaper,’ with deep blue finishes, a butter yellow basin and a custom mirror. Any particularly magical wallpaper acts as the perfect backdrop for your powder room, giving you a ready-made colour palette that will inform your choices for the rest of the space.

‘Powder rooms offer a unique opportunity to make an unforgettable impression on guests,’ notes Romanos – and size can once again be used to your advantage. ‘As these spaces are typically smaller, clients feel more confident investing in unusual materials and bold design choices that might feel overwhelming in larger rooms,’ he continues. ‘Social media has played a role too: these spaces have become highly “Instagrammable” moments within homes.’
