Following on from The Park Table, the sell-out dining series in summer 2016, on 18 November the Farmopolis Café will host the first of a series of guest-chefs in their Floating Table series. On the opening night Santiago-born Marcelo Henriquez will provide a Chilean inspired menu which has been shaped by his time spent living and working in countries such as France, Italy and Spain. Other chefs to showcase their gourmet delights are Jason Wass of Polpo, Helena Puolakka of Aster and Andrew Clarke of Bastien. Helping the Floating Table chefs will be trainee chefs from Café from Crisis, a social enterprise that provides a route into work for homeless people and ex-offenders.
The delicious sharing feast will be served on long communal tables that are surrounded by plants and trees rehomed from the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Farmopolis has an ongoing partnership with the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and hope to develop a plant nursery dedicated to second-hand plants. Part of Greenwich Peninsula (Europe’s biggest single regeneration project), Farmopolis is an urban farming destination pioneering a new model for public green space.
In addition to the dinner feasts there will be a brunch hosted by Niomi Smart, the best-selling author of Eat Smart on 27 November. Niomi, the health and lifestyle blogger, was made famous by her YouTube channel and ‘What I eat in a day’ videos. You can enjoy her plant-based, vegan brunch for £25 per person.
With delicious food, gorgeous views of the Thames and a capacity of only 60 diners, this is a perfect opportunity to share an exciting meal with a friend or loved one in gorgeously-green surroundings. You could even buy someone a ticket as a Christmas present.
The Floating Table series will take place on selected Friday nights throughout November, December and January. Tickets are available here. Tickets are £45 per person and includes a welcome cocktail and canapés and a three course meal.
