The Unicorn School, Abingdon is celebrating its 30th Anniversary and has been chosen by Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford as their Chapter Charity of the year. In previous years the Cathedral has supported national charities including Macmillan Cancer Support and Sarcoma UK. This honour will allow The Unicorn School to host a Carol Concert in the Cathedral on 17th December 2022.
Andrew Day, Head Teacher at the Unicorn, said: “It is a huge privilege for The Unicorn to be chosen to be Christ Church Cathedral’s Chapter Charity for 2022. For 30 years we have supported children with dyslexia and related learning difficulties. All funds raised from the evening will go towards the school’s expansion plans. We run at full capacity and we are looking to raise £300,000 this year for an extension to the current building. We hope the local community will come and support and hope to see many former pupils and their families at the Carol Concert which we plan will be a dazzling evening.”
John Briggs, Registrar of Christ Church Cathedral said “It is a real privilege to be able to host the Unicorn School as our Chapter Charity this year, the work they do helping young people achieve their full potential is truly inspiring and we look forward to working with them to create a wonderful Christmas celebration.”
