An offering to help busy parents

Eaton House The Manor has introduced a new wraparound care offering, The Vesper Club, from the start of the Summer Term, 17th April 2024.

It is open to pupils from the Boys and Girls’ Schools and is named after the Latin word ‘Vespertinus’, meaning of the evening.

Mrs Sarah Segrave, Principal of Eaton House Schools and Headmistress of Eaton House The Manor, sees the change as a really positive one that is ‘designed to support busy working parents requiring flexibility outside of school hours.’

The school will ‘run a fully managed programme with a ‘home from home feeling’, overseen by staff,’ she says.

The sessions are available for boys and girls from Kindergarten through to Year 8, and will run daily from 4.00pm-6.30pm. Parents may book either the full 4.00-6.30pm session, the shorter 4.00-5.00pm session or the 5.00-6.30pm session for children to attend after their extra-curricular clubs. Bookings are made in advance via the Parent Portal, with parents able to select dates as needed. There is a sensible charge for each session.

Children can continue to make full use of the Eaton House The Manor Early Morning Rooms from 8.00-8.30am, and the after-school club programme until 5.00pm, but they will now also have the option of joining the Vesper Club to extend provision

‘Our fully managed programme will have a ‘home from home feeling’, with ‘Vespertines’ overseen by staff,’ says Mrs Segrave. ‘They will ensure that children are well cared for and engaged in fun and interesting activities whilst on site, including board games and arts and crafts activities.’

Younger pupils attending from 4.00pm will have the opportunity to complete their homework, whilst older children are expected to continue to sign up for Homework Class, and may then join from 5.00pm.

Initially, Vesper Club will be based in the Prep Library, providing a welcoming and cosy space for the children.

A light tea of sandwiches, crudites, biscuits, and yoghurts will be offered with all dietary requirements catered for.

Eaton House The Manor expects that this will be a popular and useful offering for parents.
