INEOS and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS have launched a competition, calling for children aged between 11-18 years old to design a helmet for Sir Lewis Hamilton.
The helmet must feature an original design suitable for a Formula 1 professional.
Rory Tait, INEOS Hygienics’ Chief Operating Officer said: ‘As Formula 1 continues to grow in popularity among younger audiences, we really wanted to provide the next generation of creatives a platform to showcase their self expression and design talent.’
‘This competition is a unique chance to give students a once-in-a-lifetime design brief. And who knows? We might just discover the next great Formula 1 designer.’
Submissions will be reviewed by INEOS and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS, with the final shortlist being reviewed by the INEOS Go Human Ambassadors, Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 design experts and INEOS Hygienics Chief Operating Officer, Rory Tait.
Sir Lewis Hamilton commented: ‘Throughout my racing career, I’ve worn many different helmet designs—some crafted by amazing artists, others which shared an important message. In a sport that is often dominated by numbers and data, my helmet gives me a way to express myself creatively, and I’m so excited to see how it can do the same for you.’
Three winners will be chosen. One for each category: 11-13 year olds, 14-16 year olds and 17-18 year old students.
The winners will be pictured with Sir Lewis Hamilton at an F1 event in 2024, and will receive a tour of the Mercedes AMG-PETRONAS F1 Team HQ in Brackley.
To enter, visit the INEOS website. Entries will close on 28 February 2024 at 11.59pm.
