Salisbury Cathedral School has re-opened The Palace Pool changing rooms after the completion of a £20,000 refurbishment.
The school invited Richard Griffiths, of Richard Griffiths & Co Solicitors, to formally re-open the changing rooms.
Richard’s father Mr Laurence Griffiths, was Head of the school from 1933 to 1959 and was the driving force behind the original construction of the pool in 1956.
The refurbishment included the installation of hot outdoor showers. Over the past few year, the pool has undergone some refurbishments as well.
The pool was recently renamed as The Palace Pool and will be a place of enjoyment for children of all ages.
The school is very grateful to the parents and pupils who raised the £20,000 for the refurbishment last summer. Lots of families bought an engraved brick to support the campaign, which were carved with their names.
Head Master, Clive Marriot, said: ‘It is heart warming to know that future generations will continue to enjoy what is arguably one of the most beautifully located outdoor pools in the country.’
