Elstree School, Berkshire, has appointed Alice Holifield as the new head of their pre-prep department. Previously Director of Teaching and Learning at Garden House School in Chelsea, Ms Holifield joined Elstree this term.
Headmaster of Elstree, Sid Inglis said, ‘I am delighted to welcome Alice to the Elstree community. She has a wealth of experience and expertise, and her warm and positive spirit has already been appreciated by the children, staff and parents.’
Elstree recently announced what will be the next exciting chapter of the school’s history, as it is becoming fully co-ed from September 2020. Commenting on Elstree’s new development, Ms Holifield said, ‘I am extremely excited that Elstree is becoming fully co-ed, and delighted to be joining the school at such an interesting and natural stage in its development. From previous experience, I know what a positive impact boys and girls in the classroom have on each other.’
Elstree is a coeducational prep school for children aged 3-13 and offers boarding from the age of eight. Set in idyllic grounds of 150 acres, only an hour by train from London, Elstree offers a secure and stimulating environment for children to be nurtured and inspired. The school’s next open day is Saturday 29 February – book your place here.
Elstree’s Headmaster, Sid Inglis, was the man behind Heads Up for Place2Be – a challenge which saw 21 prep headteachers face a dusk ’til dawn challenge in Pembrokeshire. So far the event has raised £97,000 for charity. Help them reach their target of £100,000 by going to their Just Giving page here.
