Congratulations to Ms Whitley, Top Year Matron at Ludgrove School, Berkshire, who recently completed her ELSA (emotional literacy support assistant) training.

As a Top Year Matron, she knows all the boys incredibly well and this means she has a wealth of experience and empathy to help them understand their emotions, cope with life’s challenges and feel happy and secure.

Boys that need this extra boost see Ms Whitley on a weekly basis for six weeks. She explained: ‘An ELSA is not there to fix problems, but to offer that important support to help a child find their own solutions.’

The Pastoral Team at Ludgrove is delighted with the new skills Ms Whitley has employed to provide this extra layer of support and the benefits are clear to see as the boys flourish under her care.
