The Papplewick community as always came together on Saturday 24th September to produce the most fantastic cake sale in support of the wonderful Macmillan Cancer Support charity.
Parents, boys and staff baked, manned stalls, bought and ate the most fantastic array of cakes, bakes and savouries, and thanks also went to those who donated from afar. The morning resulted in a fantastic total of £2066.35p – which topped last year’s record.
This amount could pay for 60 Macmillan nurses to spend an hour each offering support to those living with cancer, and their families, in terms of medical, practical and emotional support. Alternatively it could contribute to 6 Macmillan grants to help with the extra costs that those living with cancer can bring.
Headmaster, Tom Bunbury said “I am absolutely thrilled that our wonderful Papplewick community has yet again surpassed themselves for this wonderful charity – to be able to help in any way possible is an honour.”
