Meet Eaton House the Manor Prep's new Headmaster and new Principal...

Mr David Wingfield, the Cambridge-educated Headmaster of Eaton House The Manor Pre-Prep School and mathematics specialist, has been appointed the new Headmaster of Eaton House The Manor Prep School from September 1, 2025. He will take over from Mrs Sarah Segrave who is leaving to become Headmistress of Sandroyd School in Wiltshire.
Mrs Segrave’s role as Principal will be taken over by a well-known local Headmistress, Mrs Alison Fleming, who is currently Head of Newton Prep in Battersea. Together, Mrs Fleming and Mr Wingfield make a formidable team to take Eaton House The Manor Boys’ School forward.
Professor Mark Bailey, MD of Dukes Education and Governor of Eaton House The Manor wrote: ‘We were unanimous that Mr Wingfield is very well suited to the role, and offers the perfect balance of continuity and fresh ideas to keep the Prep moving forward. As Head of the Pre-Prep since 2020, he will also be well known to many of the Prep’s pupils and parents.
‘Before joining EHTM, he had a senior role for several years at Bassett House, where he taught maths to Year 6 and coordinated the school’s 11+ preparation. He is also very familiar with the Common Entrance Pre-Test process, which will complement the extensive experience of Mrs Fleming in ensuring excellent knowledge of 13+ future schools.’
Mr Wingfield is delighted to be taking over the baton from Mrs Segrave. He says: ‘I am honoured and delighted to have been entrusted with the leadership of the Prep School and to build on the formidable and far-reaching legacy of Sarah Segrave. I am very much looking forward to bolstering the school’s position at the forefront of boys’ education, balancing tradition and innovation, and the academic and the pastoral.’
