The Curriculum

Designed to foster independence, critical thinking, and research skills—essential for higher education and professional success. A-level options are structured around ‘London Pathways’, aligning academic choices with specific career aspirations. A unique Flexi-Sixth model offers students the option of taking one subject online should they want to.Beyond academics, the ‘London Leaders’ programme provides enrichment opportunities such as the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and participation in Model United Nations, as well as other life-skills to foster future success.

Games & The Arts

Physical activity is encouraged and there are opportunities to take part in team sports with other LPS schools as well as using the small on-site gym or the nearby Queen Mother Sports Centre. There are many opportunities to make the most of London’s rich cultural offering – including museums, theatre and other events.

Pastoral Care

As a close-knit sixth form, LPS Sixth places significant emphasis on community and student voice. Our tailored pastoral care program offers personalised guidance, assisting students in navigating their future paths—be it university, employment, or other ventures. Students benefit from dedicated workspaces, a communal common room, a robust tutorial system, and access to an on-site counsellor, ensuring a balanced approach to challenge and support.

Results

With our emphasis on the individual and a determination to foster each student’s uniqueness, students move on to study a wide variety of subjects at prestigious universities across the UK and the US, including creative arts, business and economics, history and politics, English, geography, media, maths and sciences. From 2025 we will also be offering Design Technology.

Head Teacher’s Philosophy

As a smaller sixth form we ensure that every student moves on to the next step that’s right for them – whether work or university and life beyond. We provide a strong bridge between school and university with the reassurance of a full day in school with opportunities to develop leadership and mentoring skills too.

Outstanding Characteristics

Under the leadership of Director of Sixth Form, Nathan Mountford, LPS Sixth is committed to inspiring and motivating each student to find the London Pathway that is right for them. We recognise the uniqueness of every student's journey and provide a structured yet flexible environment that bridges the gap between school and university. Our approach includes a full school day enriched with opportunities for leadership and mentoring, preparing students for future success. With experience in leading Sixth Forms all over the world, Nathan understands the admissions criteria for all major universities in the UK, US, Australia, Europe and the Far East.
