The Curriculum
Students follow a GCSE and A-level curriculum:16 subjects including Food Preparation and Nutrition and DT at GCSE and 22 at A-level. Academic study is supplemented by a Diploma programme designed to build and develop life skills.
Games & the Arts
All students take part in Games/PE lessons with many participating in representative matches. The Performing Arts also give students opportunities to share their talents, on or off stage, at our annual Whole School production and during our Arts Festival.
Pastoral Care
Form Tutors are the first point of contanct for students, parents and guardians, meeting with their forms twice daily to ensure students are well prepared, well informed, attend and deliver assemblies and PSHE etc. The Stoke community allows every child to be supported through their learning journey as per their individual needs. The Stoke pastoral team is lead by Deputy Head (Pastoral) and Designated Safeguarding Lead, Miss Rebecca Watson.
Recent Scholarships
A limited number of academic scholarships are awarded to talented students for Sixth Form entry based on competitive assessments.
Head Teacher’s Philosophy
The Stoke Approach to teaching and learning is both progressive and reflective: we understand young people think and learn differently, so by prioritising small classes, enhanced by our diploma programme, we inspire minds, offer individual attention and promote happiness, which in turn leads academic achievement and personal development.
