The Curriculum
Our prep school follows the Cambridge Primary Curriculum while our secondary students follow the exciting holistic Middle Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate.
Games & the Arts
As an international school, we introduce our students to a wide variety of sports and expose them (via our Int’l Artist in Residence Programme) to the latest global trends in the Arts. Working with local theatres our Drama is an annual highlight.
Pastoral Care
We combine an innovative mentoring system, within-house school counselling and strong development of emotional intelligence through regular adventures at our outdoor education centre, The Wilderness, in the Forest of Dean. Our alternative offering to GCSEs focuses on projects, real-world assessments and community service so students can opt out of exam stress altogether whilst still getting a rigorous education. Celebrating individuality is key; be true to yourself.
University Places
IB Diploma @ International Bilingual School of Provence, International School Harlem, Netherlands. All students go on to further education either in the UK/abroad. Head Teacher’s Philosophy* (Maximum 50 words) We support the International Baccalaureate’s vision to develop inquiring, caring and knowledgeable young people to help create a better, more peaceful world. We believe this can only be done in close collaboration with families and local communities, hence our motto ‘It takes a village to raise a child’.
Outstanding Characteristics
We balance cutting-edge digital literacy with a strong grounding in the real worlds, both of work and nature. The School has a relaxed atmosphere with an energetic feeling of fun, family and freedom combined with the IB’s focus on creating lifelong learners. We demonstrate that a progressive, holistic curriculum can be implemented in a rigorous, ambitious way that prepares students for whatever the future holds.
