The Curriculum
Wycombe Abbey’s learning environment is supportive, yet challenging. We believe that education should not simply be about delivering a curriculum and examination syllabus, but that real learning stems from stimulating intellectual curiosity and nurturing a love for the subjects being taught.
Games & the Arts
Our co-curricular activities allow pupils the opportunity to follow their own passions. With over 50 clubs and societies there is something for everyone. We have a variety of performing arts performances each year and our sporting programme is impressive with competitive and recreational sport open to all.
Pastoral Care
Our approach to pastoral care is proactive, holistic, and wide ranging. It is at the heart of all that we do. We firmly believe that all pupils should have the opportunity to flourish and be supported and is actively promoted through Wellbeing lessons that are integrated into the School curriculum. Dedicated boarding house teams provide extensive care for pupils and tutor meet with them each day throughout their school year.
Recent Scholarships
Girls gain places at high-ranking universities on competitive courses. One-third secure Oxbridge offers and increasingly, girls are choosing universities around the world including Ivy League Colleges in the US.
Head Teacher’s Philosophy
We are deeply committed to instilling values alongside intellectual passions and a global perspective. Our aims are the pursuit of academic excellence, the development of each individual’s talents in creative, physical and social skills, and the encouragement of faith in God and service to other people, all in a happy, fulfilling and caring community.
Outstanding Characteristics
Wycombe Abbey is an exceptional place built on more than 125 years of educating young women. We are excited about encouraging curiosity, bold ideas, innovation, leadership and delight in learning – inside and outside the classroom. Girls will leave school as confident, articulate, independent young women who will navigate a competitive world successfully but who also have the qualities to make a positive difference throughout their lives.
