Over the past nine years, Canadian-British designer Edeline Lee has been cultivating a loyal following for her eco-minded eponymous fashion brand, with A-list fans including Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Taylor Swift and Olivia Colman. This year, that following is set to grow even more thanks to the launch of the label’s first physical retail space, just launched on the first floor of Harrods.
Edeline Lee Has Launched in Harrods
Edeline Lee focuses on precision cut, hand-made detailing, and femininity of form, designing with her concept of the Future Lady in mind – which she characterises as ‘strong, independent, feminine women with refined aesthetics and very demanding lives’. Her signature pieces are designed to resist wrinkling, making them particularly practical for travelling. They’re also made to fit a wide range of body types.
A commitment to eco-friendly fashion sits at the heart of the company – hence why it was named one of the four most sustainable brands at London Fashion Week 2021 by Good On You. Though products are made using European fabrics, all of the dyeing and finishing is done in the UK, with everything designed, hand-made and packaged in the brand’s own small factory in east London. And instead of following trends, products are timeless, made to last a long time.
Edeline’s retail space in Harrods includes some of the brand’s bestsellers in tones of burgundy, slate grey, wine red, bottle green and laguna blue.
For her latest collection debuted at London Fashion Week, Edeline has used an almost entirely black and white palette – a big change from the Spring Summer 2022 range, which featured 53 different colours. The Autumn Winter 2022 collection focuses purely on cut and shape, with all looks in full monochromatic blacks and flashes of ivory and bronze. Edeline worked with her long-time collaborator, stylist Katie Felstead, to dig deep into the house’s archives, reworking some of the complex patterns that she cut herself when she first started the label.
