The brand heads to Scotland for its latest campaign
With the return of September comes a noticeable drop in the weather. And when navigating the damp, chilly terrain of the UK, it’s safe to assume you’ll want a sturdy (and waterproof) pair of shoes on your feet. British shoemaker Crockett & Jones is ready to answer the call with its newly launched AW24 collection, which offers the perfect blend of rugged style, comfort and performance.
Crockett & Jones Freshen Up The Classics For AW24
Nestled amongst the breathtaking vistas of Scotland’s Firth of Clyde, with the Isle of Arran looming in the distance, Crockett & Jones has found the perfect backdrop for its latest AW24 collection. The brand has once again turned to its long-standing alliance with Scotland, and the rugged beauty of the country’s natural landscapes, for inspiration to create a collection that sets the perfect balance of practical longevity timeless British style.
The wild beauty of Ayrshire provided the perfect inspiration, with the design team venturing to iconic locations, including Goatfell Summit and Loch Eck, to better understand what it’s like to walk in the shoes of the Crockett & Jones community. ‘The Great British countryside and comfort continue to inspire much of our autumn development,’ said the team. ‘With this emotional attachment, Crockett & Jones headed north once again, if only to breathe fresh air, clear the mind and experience freedom to explore once again.’
The renowned shoemaker is known for its exceptional craftsmanship and value, and this season it continues to push itself with a line catering to more casual styles that can withstand the demands of the great outdoors. Listening to the requests of its community, Crockett & Jones adds to its expansive range of boots and derbys with exciting new materials, techniques and finishes, as well as brand new last.
At the heart of this season’s collection is the introduction of last 394, a revolutionary form that showcases an asymmetric, characterful forepart – a first for the brand. This new last not only offers superior comfort and fit but also presents a playful silhouette that catches the eye from every angle.
With these exciting developments at the forefront of its AW24 collection, Crockett & Jones has shown it’s ability to adapt to the ever-changing sartorial landscape. The brand continues to take confident strides into the future, and it’s taking us along for the ride.
Collection Highlights
Inspired by Scotland, made in England – the Crockett & Jones AW24 collection is richly coloured with British sartorial style. But tradition goes hand-in-hand with technical advancement, ensuring that every step taken this season looks and feels good.
Rough-Out Suede
Bring a British-born brand, Crockett & Jones knows the importance of creating shoes that can withstand the unpredictability of UK weather. With this in mind, the brand has introduced a line of rough-out suede shoes and boots to its AW24 collection.
A wax-impregnated suede with a tight fibre structure, this sturdy, hard-wearing footwear will help you stride through the cold in style. The beauty of this material lies in its ‘rough’ exteriors, which produces larger folds as comfort levels increase with every use, meaning you get more support with every step.
And, with fully waterproof leather, there should be nothing stopping you from braving the great outdoors – whatever the weather.
The Shoes
Crockett & Jones’s boot of the moment, Islay, makes a starring cameo in the new collection, decked out in an earthy shade of green. Another brand hero, the brogue derby Cardigan, also comes in the brand’s now-signature rough-out suede.
Coming from a history of field use, both styles feature a hearty 365 last that plays into a timeless English style.

And then there’s a new material this season. Crockett & Jones has been working with hatch grain leather, otherwise known as ‘oily pull-up’ leather, to once again address the need for durable footwear for AW24.
The roots of hatch grain leather are just as intriguing as the shoes and boots themselves. Originating from Portuguese or Spanish bulls, this leather is known for its tight, compact fibre structure, which helps increase the longevity of the material.
In the tannery, it starts out as a chrome-tanned leather, before vegetable extracts are then re-tanned into the hide to create a soft and supple feel (without compromising on that all-important durability). The ‘veg re-tan’ process also comes with a stylish bonus; it allows the leather to take on a charming aged character, without any actual impact on long-term performance.
The Shoes
Making a grand debut in hatch grain hide this season is Donegal (which also comes in a lovely chocolate hurricane hide), the only pair of boots within the collection crafted in this leather.
It is joined by apron fronted derby Denver and, once again, by the all-rounder brogue derby Cardigan.

Is it really autumn-winter if you don’t have a pair of boots on your feet? While style is undoubtedly an important part of the decision-making process when shopping for new boots, it’s also important to find a pair that your feet will thank you for.
Crockett & Jones continues to invest in the comfort of your feet with its AW24 line of boots. This trio of supple, lightweight, low-cut boots have all been produced in waterproof suede – style and substance – and feature the brand’s lightest rubber sole to-date. Meaning you can continue gallivanting through the countryside to your heart’s content, without worry of clunky boots and blisters.
The Shoes
Stepping into the new season are Elgin, a wonderfully uncomplicated low-cut Chelsea boot, and Kelso, an easy-to-wear derby – both made on a 365 last.
They are joined by Chepstow, a three eyelet Chukka available in two shades of suede.
