Celebrating the Louis Vuitton x Murakami re-edition

Tokyo and Paris collide in the heart of London, as Louis Vuitton opens the doors to its latest pop-up in collaboration with Takashi Murakami. Here’s everything you need to know.

How To Visit The Louis Vuitton x Murakami Pop-Up In London

ICYMI: Louis Vuitton has teamed up with Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami once more on a re-edition of the two’s decade-defining 2003 collaboration. (More details on the new collection here.) And to celebrate the occasion, the two are launching a series of global activations across the world. First up: London.

Located in the middle of busy Soho, the Louis Vuitton x Murakami pop-up is spread across two floors and takes its cues from the world-famous Tokyo modular (or capsule) hotels. With white walls splashed in playful shades of blue, pink and green – a nod to the original Louis Vuitton x Murakami colour palette – the immersive space encourages visitors to explore the original and re-edition collections through the lens of the artist himself.

Highlights from the pop-up include:

  • The Archive Module, a bright green room where pieces from the Eye Love Monogram and Monogram Multicore 2003 collection will be displayed in flower-style wall casings.
  • The Care Module, where visitors can bring in their pieces from the original collection to be repaired by an in-house team.
  • The Vending Machine, a floor-to-ceiling installation inspired by Japanese gachapons. After purchasing an item from the collection, shoppers receive a Murakami-designed token that can be inserted into the vending machine in exchange for a prize. Prizes include the Takashi Murakami Flower Go Walk portable game, exclusive limited-edition LV x Murakami stickers, and LV x Murakami trading cards that can be collected or traded.
  • A Digital Film Space showing the original Superflat movies, decorated with Murakami flower cushions.
  • The Café, a one-of-a-kind installation where visitors can try baked goods and drinks in specially printed cups and napkins with exclusive Louis Vuitton x Murakami designs.
