Lucy & Yak Collaborates With Shelter On Pop-Up
This November, Lucy & Yak will be taking over Shelter’s boutique in Coal Drops Yard for a weekend of fun-filled shopping. Themed around the shared ethos that ‘home is everything’, the pop-up will focus on cosy home comforts.
‘Since 2017, Lucy & Yak has been bringing comfort to the people,’ commented Lucy Greenwood, Co-Founder of Lucy & Yak. ‘Comfort isn’t just a feeling, we all deserve to feel good, in our clothes and our spaces. That’s why we have partnered with Shelter to present The Comfort Store. With the growing popularity of online marketplaces, charity shops are struggling with donations. It’s important to remember that if you want to find hidden gems at your local charity shop, you also need to donate them and that’s what we hope to raise awareness around as a further thread of our partnership with Shelter.’
Dubbed ‘The Comfort Store’, the pop-up will be stocked with some of Lucy & Yak’s cosiest items, including dungarees, jumpsuits, fleeces and blankets, alongside Shelter’s curated pieces. Visitors can also drop by and donate any preloved Yaks through the clothing brand’s buyback scheme. All clothing donations and profits will go directly to Shelter.
‘We are very excited to be partnering with Lucy & Yak. The creative community they have built is inspiring, along with their efforts and passion towards ethics and sustainability, which closely aligns with Shelter’s values,’ added Tracey Morrison, Head of Retail at Shelter. ‘We look forward to working together responsibly to reduce fashion waste, while highlighting our fight to end the housing emergency. With record levels of homelessness, rising rents and record numbers of children growing up without a safe home, our charity shops have an important job to do. By shopping at Shelter’s shops, our customers are supporting sustainable fashion and joining our fight for home.’
Alongside clothing, Lucy & Yak will continue to give yearly monetary donations to Shelter.
