Marcel Rodrigues Is Coming To Savile Row

Known as the ‘golden mile of tailoring’, Savile Row is synonymous with bespoke luxury – meaning not just any brand can snap up a shopfront on the street. So, when a new name is announced on The Row, it’s big news. The latest addition? Hat maker Marcel Rodrigues.

People in hats

Founded in 2018 by Marcel Steyn, the designer first set up shop in Bourton-on-the-Water before moving to the north coast of Cornwall. Here, the brand made a name for itself amongst locals for its hand-crafted hats and Cornish-made clothing. Think one-of-a-kind headpieces made using 100 percent renewable energy, crafted from dead stock, bi-products and sustainably sourced cloth. Marcel Rodrigues did host bi-annual pop-ups at Savile Row during this time, but this will be its first permanent residence on the street.

The store opening will be something of a homecoming for Steyn, who first learnt the ins and outs of bespoke tailoring from Savile Row resident Cad & The Dandy. And now, 15 years later, the designer is bringing his brand full circle – marking a milestone in his own career while bringing The Row its first bespoke hat maker.
