Teamed up with subtle layering and slightly inward-bent ends, Roman also notes the cut is a polished look that falls anywhere from the jaw to the collarbone (creating a curve lob). ‘This shaping often provides movement and bounce – while the styling complements natural wave patterns.’
And compared to your classic, boxy bob, this one is all about creating a fluid curve. ‘The key difference is the curvature in the shape, which creates a more dynamic look,’ notes Roman. ‘It creates a fresh, youthful vibe that makes it stand out from other short hairstyles.’

‘The curve bob flatters various hair types, especially those with natural waves,’ notes Roman. ‘It also suits round, square and oval face shapes particularly well, as the roundness softens angles and creates more balance across facial features.’

In the salon, ask for a bob hairstyle that incorporates a curved silhouette. (The curve definition is completely up to you.) ‘Bring photos to illustrate the specific curve and volume you desire,’ adds Roman. ‘During your consultation, discuss the level of curl or wave that you would like. From there, you can tailor the curve bob to your style.’
