The Best Day Spas In Oxford & Oxfordshire
1. The Garden Spa at the Minster Mill
Where? Minster Mill, Minster Lovell, Oxfordshire, Cotswolds OX29 0RN
What? The recently refurbished Minster Mill is nestled in the countryside just 15 miles away from Oxford, flanked by 65 acres of grounds spanning gardens, wildflower meadows and rolling hills. It’s in the gardens you’ll find the hotel’s wellness offering, The Garden Spa, which features three quiet suites where guests can book treatments – but if it’s a lazy day you crave, simply pull up to the indoor pool on one of the lounders or sweat it out in the rock sauna or aroma steam room.
Treatments: Spa treatments at Minster Mill have been created by ESPA (aka the king of spa rituals), with an emphasis on pure naturals and refreshing remedies. The treatment menu features a range of facials and massages; the Inner Calm Massage promises up to 85 minutes of holistic relaxation, tailored completely to your needs, while the Instant Radiance Facial will leave your skin feeling fresh and radiant. You can also take a turn off the traditional route with a RASUL Mud Therapy Treatment, which sees layers of mineral-rich mud, heat and steam lapped onto your skin to leave in beautifully soft.

2. The Old Dairy Retreat
Where? The Old Dairy, Letchmere Farm, Camp Road, Upper Heyford, Oxon OX25 5LS
What? This private day spa retreat can be hired exclusively by groups of two to six guests. The retreat, set up by health and beauty expert Bex Fletcher, is located within the grounds of Fletcher’s rural home in the North Oxfordshire countryside. The Old Dairy Retreat can booked out for the day or longer, and guests can expect to find treatment rooms as well as a wellness room hosting private yoga classes, meditation sessions and Sound Bath Therapy (take a trip to the Udder Barn if group classes are more your speed).
Treatments: The Old Dairy Retreat specialises in VOYA spa treatments. Certified organic, VOYA products revolve around one ingredient, seaweed – an ingredient rich in vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants which can help hydrate, nourish, exfoliate and soothe skin. The star treatment to have on your radar here is the Detox Seaweed Bathing experience, which includes a full body brush and exfoliation, a facial cleanse and a dip in a bath of pure organic, hand-harvested Atlantic seaweed to help release unwanted toxins and alleviate aches and pains. This bathing ritual dates back 300 years and is Ireland’s only indigenous therapy.

3. DoubleTree by Hilton The Oxford Belfry Hotel and Spa
Where? DoubleTree by Hilton Oxford Belfry, Thame OX9 2JW
What? Surrounded by sprawling Oxfordshire countryside and neighbouring the nearby Blenheim Palace, the Oxford Belfry Hotel & Spa presents an idyllic setting for a calming wind-down; think a 17-acre garden, onsite restaurant and large indoor swimming pool (good luck finding the will to leave). It’s the DoubleTree spa though that holds most of the hotel’s visitors captive.
Treatments: Another spa to partner with Elemis (like we said, king of all things spa), DoubleTree covers pretty much everything; from massages and manicures to face creams and foot balms. Daily spa packages range from 30-minute midweek boosters (‘Simply Spa’, for reference) to indulgent two-hour slots where you can try up to three treatments (this one’s called ‘Ultimate’ for obvious reasons). Alternatively, book yourself in for a one-off treatment from the menu, which features advanced facials, spa rituals and beauty services.

4. Randolph Hotel
Where? Randolph Hotel, Beaumont Street, Oxford OX1 2LN
What? Quirkiness comes in spades The Randolph Hotel by Graduate Hotels. Situated in the heart of Oxford’s city centre – and nestled amongst some of the university’s iconic colleges – The Randolph pays homage to Oxford’s famous alumni with Alice in Wonderland and Oscar Wilde inspired details and finishing touches (we’re a big fan of the ornate wallpapers and rich colours). During your stay, make sure to visit the hotel’s Wellness Centre, where you can relax in the steam room, sauna or sensation shower before being whisked off into a treatment room.
Treatments: Randolph Hotel has partnered with Made For Life Organics to create its (lengthy) treatment menu. Expect the usual suspects – you can’t go wrong with a good facial or massage – as well as Circadian Reset Rituals designed to help restore physical, mental and emotional balance (while delivering a top-to-toe facial-massage treatment) and a number of relaxing maternity treatments.

Guests have access a pool, sauna and steam room, and can book a number of treatments throughout their stay.
