It’s a 150-minute Roman bath and body experience in Covent Garden.

Jo Malone London has foregone dipping its toe in the spa arena and opted for a full-body immersion instead. The beauty brand’s first treatment is available now at AIRE Ancient Baths in London, a collaboration between the renowned fragrance and wellness houses. The 150-minute Jo Malone spa treatment is available to book now, but is it worth it? We went to find out…

The Restorative Ritual By Jo Malone London

What Does The Treatment Include?

Combining ancient bathing traditions with modern wellness, this 150-minute experience begins with a sensory journey through AIRE’s thermal circuit. In case you’re wondering what exactly a ‘sensory journey’ is, it’s full use of AIRE’s gorgeous subterranean thermal spa, which includes baths of varying temperatures, hydrotherapy jets, a eucalyptus-infused steam room, and a saltwater flotation bath to relax and rejuvenate. (The super-hot steam room complete with a cold plunge in the corner is a personal favourite.)

After the thermal baths, it’s on to a bespoke 75-minute treatment using Jo Malone’s Care Collection products. The ritual includes a 15-minute full-body exfoliation on a warm marble bed with the Restore Body Treatment Scrub, enriched with natural oils and aromatic notes of honey, clove, and nutmeg. Following the scrub, there’s a deeply relaxing hour-long massage using the Restore Body Oil, infused with jasmine, neroli, and rosehip essential oils to help nourish the skin and restore balance. Finish the experience with a glass of sparkling wine or juice.

Where Is It & What Does It Cost?

The treatment is available at AIRE Ancient Baths in Covent Garden, and costs £290 per person for a 150-minute treatment, including the use of the baths.

Jo Malone London Care Collection

Why Now?

A Jo Malone London spa treatment just makes sense, doesn’t it? But why is now the perfect moment? The treatment aligns with the brand’s new Care Collection, a seven-piece wellness collection to add to its existing bath and body offering. The products are inspired by ancient Roman baths, found all over Britain 2000 years ago, with water heated to different temperatures as it is in AIRE today, from the Tepidarium to the Caldarium and the Frigidarium. The products reflect the rooms and the rituals they inspired, along with the oils and ingredients symbolic to the Romans. The line contains new favourites such as the Purify Shower Gel and an Enrich Body Balm, plus two heroes that are utilised in the spa treatment: the Restore Body Treatment Scrub (which will remind hardcore Jo Malone London fans of the much-missed Vitamin E Scrub) and the Restore Body Oil.

The Jo Malone London Care Collection is exclusive to Selfridges.

Is The Jo Malone Spa Treatment Worth It?

In a word: yes. If you’ve ever visited AIRE Ancient Baths in London, you’ll know that their luxury thermal spa is one of the city’s ultimate wellness destinations. Add in the scent-sational Jo Malone Care Collection and you’ve got a truly transformative treatment. Our therapist Tasha expertly scrubbed and exfoliated the whole body in a classic hammam ritual, elevated with a heated marble slab, leaving skin soft and subtly scented, before an hour-long relaxing massage on a super-soft bed with the beautifully-scented (and sell-out) Restore Body Oil. The ritual might start with a dip in the Floatarium, but two hours later you’ll finish by floating back outside, feeling not only softer but lighter, too.
