Meet Beak Street's newest resident

A trip to Lush is always a sensory experience. Even before stepping across the threshold, the heady scent of bath bombs, jellies and creams trickles out onto the pavement – drawing in shoppers by the nose. But the British label is expanding its fragrance empire with the arrival of the Lush Perfume Library, which has now officially opened its doors in Soho.

The Lush Perfume Library Opens In Soho

In recent years, London’s Beak Street has become something of a hub for perfumeries, housing the likes of Le Labo, Avestan, Byredo and Ffern on its iconic thoroughfare. But its latest opening is the buzziest yet. Fragrance retailer Lush has just opened its Perfume Library, a new permanent concept store celebrating the brand’s long history of in-house perfumery.

The store, which opened its doors on Friday 19 July, is home to a curated selection of exclusive, new and hero fragrances from Lush. This includes a selection of 12 brand new perfumes, only available to shop at the Perfume Library, as well as a collection of home fragrances (comprised of candles, wax melts and incense) and body sprays that have yet to be officially launched. Also up for grabs is an exclusive vegan leather jacket, which can be scented with a new apparel oil from the brand.

Visitors will also be able to sit down for a consultation with Lush’s fragrance experts, who will be on hand to help find the perfect addition to any scent wardrobe.

‘I am so excited that we have this beautiful and very diverse collection of scents available for every visitor to explore alongside a personal consultation, inspiring books and more,’ said Lush In-house Perfumer, Alina Gliwinska. ‘I am hoping customers will go on a journey to find their unique perfume which will match their personality, evokes memories and ultimately has the potential to become their signature scent.’

Made in-house in the UK, Lush perfumes are created using a blend of essential oils and absolutes (sourced from family businesses and local farmers where possible) and take their cues from literature, music and life events. The new bottles celebrate the naturally derived colours of Lush perfumes, created from essential oils, with labels printed directly onto the glass to reveal the fragrance within.

Alongside its sweet-smelling treats, the Lush Perfume Library also stocks a carefully curated collection of books and compilations, hand-picked by Lush co-founder and in-house perfumer Mark Constantine OBE. These are joined by books that have inspired and educated Lush’s perfumers, reviewed Lush Fragrances and dive into the inner workings and history of scent.
