Q&A with Rafeeka Khan
Which product have you been buying and using for years?
Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant. Over the years it has held its spot as one of my top five skincare products. I’ve tried generic versions, but none really deliver the way Paula’s Choice does.
What is your most extravagant beauty purchase? Was it worth it?
I’d have to say the ClĂ© de Peau BeautĂ© Radiant Fluid Foundation. Possibly my favourite ‘natural’ foundation in my collection. It gives the most beautiful ‘lit from within’ glow and provides decent coverage without looking cakey or mask like. Well worth the money!
How do you look after your skin?
I follow a very strict five-step skincare regime day and night, and I rarely stray from my tried and true actives.
Which products do you think really work?
Retinol; it has finally been getting the spotlight it deserves because it’s the holy grail when it comes to fighting pesky pimples and fine lines and wrinkles.
Beat beauty advice?
Never sleep in your makeup and change your pillowcase every two days.
Hero makeup product?
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. It covers a multitude of skin sins and sleeplessness.
Also, when I’m shooting a lot, I love Oxygenetix Foundation as it gives a second skin finish and is healing on the skin.
Signature makeup look?
I’d say it’s a classic bronze makeup look. I conceal where needed and bronze the parameters of my face, including my cheek hollows, temples and eyelids. I finish the look off with a nude lipliner and lashings of mascara.
Product you can’t live without?
My retinol, it’s the one product I can honestly say I’m obsessed with. It really does give you visible results.
