Have you seen the date? It’s finally Scorpio’s time to shine. Taking the spotlight from 23 October to 21 November, this star sign is all about deep, dark and moody aesthetics ties up with a luxurious finish. And with a birthday mani on the cards, we’ve come up with plenty of nail inspiration for our favourite Scorpios.
How To Tap Into The Scorpio Aesthetic
A water sign known for its passionate personality, Scorpios are deeply emotional and intense. They’re ruled by two planets: Mars, a symbol of action, passion and desire, and Pluto, which is associated with transformation, power, death and life. This duality makes Scorpio pretty difficult to work out; they’re incredibly emotive and quick to take the lead, but also like to maintain an air of mystery that can be difficult to untangle.
These traits also have an impact on a Scorpio’s personal style. They gravitate towards dark colours (black is their power colour), rich textures and powerful silhouettes. In other words, a Scorpio likes to feel confident in their own skin, and will use their clothes, makeup and nails to project a dark, alluring persona. ‘Any Scorpio-inspired mani should be bold, mysterious, and intense – just like the sign itself,’ adds manicurist and Mylee Senior Ambassador, Tinu Bello.

Create The Look: Scorpio Nails
The first rule when dealing with a Scorpio? Expect the unexpected. This multi-faceted sign can take their nail plans as big and bold as they like. Go a little more literal with constellations, signs and symbols (scorpions are a top choice, for obvious reasons) – or add some abstraction by dialling up the dark colours and luxurious textures.

Moody Hues
First things first: find your colours. ‘For Scorpio nails, I would recommend base colours that are dark and moody, such as deep reds, maroons or inky blacks,’ suggests Tinu. ‘I also love a matte black base with shiny, blood-red tips for a powerful look that is super wearable. An ombrĂ© effect with deep purples fading into dark red can also create a magnetic gradient.’

Dramatic Textures
Tinu tells us you can either stop here, or add more detail for an extra bold finish. ‘A touch of glitter will add an alluring sparkle,’ she says. ‘To add drama, a Scorpio manicure might also include textures like velvet or chrome.’
Scorpion Style
You can also look to the stars when planning out your manicure. ‘You could incorporate stars, moons, or constellations to highlight the astrological Scorpio theme,’ suggest Tinu. ‘The designs on a Scorpio manicure often feature symbols associated with the sign. Think small, intricate scorpions on an accent nail, with metallic or reflective elements.’
