Following in the footsteps of bubble bath nails and TikTok’s clean girl aesthetic, soft girl nails are all about embracing a neutral, pared back beauty routine. Leaving behind the glittery finishes, bold colours and playful nail art of party season, this trend quite literally takes a softer approach to the classic mani.

‘This mani features sheer or barely-there polish in shades of ballerina pinks, milky whites and soft nudes,’ explains manicurist and Mylee Senior Ambassador, Tinu Bello. ‘This year we will see them paired with a high-gloss finish and short lengths for a minimalist aesthetic.’

There isn’t really anything super flashy with this look; instead, the emphasis is on cultivating a healthy-looking manicure that is wearable for everyday life. ‘Less is more for 2025 when it comes to our nails,’ emphasises Tinu.

How To Choose Your Nail Shape

The same ethos is applied the nail shape of this manicure. Tinu predicts soft girl nails will go hand-in-hand with ‘short lengths, especially in a soft square tapered shape. These are super low maintenance and versatile for an everyday mani. We will also continue to see a lot of almond shapes, but the length will go from long to medium, to elongate the fingers without any potential inconvenience.’
