Time for a seasonal transformation? Try one of these spring hair trends, set to take 2025 by storm.
The Biggest Hair Trends For Spring 2025
This season’s wave of hair trends have been given the red carpet stamp of approval, coming off the back of awards season (and all its trending beauty moments). Think Hollywood-inspired bobs, eccentric jellyfish cuts and super shiny locks.
Intrigued? These are the biggest hair trends for spring 2025:
Trends At A Glance
- Liquid Hair
- Cloud Bob
- Jellyfish Cut
- Hollywood Bob
- The Demi
- Pixie Cut
1. Liquid Hair
Before we get into this season’s biggest cuts, our experts flag that the quality of the hair itself will be a major focus over the next few months. ‘This year is all about healthy, high-shine hair, and long layers are evolving with a “liquid gloss” finish – a hyper-glossy, polished look achieved through ultra-fine micro-glazing techniques,’ explains Luke Tyrrell, hair stylist and colour specialist. ‘This involves seamless, translucent lowlights and delicate ribbon lighting to create movement without harsh contrast. The demand for effortless luxury is pushing hair trends towards “expensive hair”, where the focus is on pristine condition, rich colour depth and a luminous, almost reflective finish. A customised acidic gloss treatment post-colour enhances vibrancy and seals the cuticle for a mirror-like shine. Hailey Bieber’s recent hyper-gloss brunette transformation and Gigi Hadid’s rich, layered caramel blonde embody this ultra-luxe aesthetic.’

2. Cloud Bob
And what would the season be without (yet another) bob trend? Luke tells us that the short hairstyle is making a huge comeback this season, but with a much softer look. ‘Bobs are evolving beyond blunt edges,’ he says. ‘And spring 2025 introduces the cloud bob: a weightless, airy bob that prioritises soft texture and natural, voluminous movement. This cut pairs beautifully with whisper-light balayage, where colour is feathered in with an almost diffused, watercolour effect – giving fine hair the illusion of density while keeping the look effortless. The industry is moving towards highly personalised hair, and the cloud bob’s custom colour diffusion technique allows for low-maintenance regrowth while keeping the hair looking fresh and modern. Using a gradient toning approach (soft warmth at the crown, diffusing into illuminated, cool tips) enhances dimension and movement.’

3. Jellyfish Cut
Last year’s breakout hair trend, the jellyfish cut, is also forecasted to be a big hit this spring. Charlie Illi, a top stylist and advanced technician at Brooks & Brooks, explains that one of the biggest drives of this trend is its celebrity appeal. ‘Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish stunned us with their cool jellyfish cuts,’ she says. ‘They both wear their hair dark for this cut, which makes the disconnection of the shorter upper and longer lower parts quite striking. When Billie wears it in a ponytail she also looks like she is wearing a classic bob; it feels like she has multiple haircuts in one. This is definitely a trend for the more daring characters out there, but it pays off.’

4. Hollywood Bob
Another 2025 red carpet favourite – and upcoming hair trend for spring – is the Hollywood bob. ‘This is a classic bob cut under the jawline and off the shoulder with sharp edges,’ explains Charlie. ‘The top layer of the hair cut is also textured – think Hollywood movie style curls – creating movement and volume. It is styled with either a set of rollers or tongs and brushed out to create width and volume.’

5. The Demi
One woman on our beauty mood board this spring has to be Demi Moore. The Substance actress has had a huge awards season, reviving her status as a trend pacemaker. ‘Demi Moore is everywhere at the moment – and so are her long, luscious locks,’ confirms Nicholas James, a celebrity session stylist. ‘Very reminiscent of Cher’s hair in the 70s, Demi’s long, sleek hair is usually styled to cascade beautifully down her back. This sophisticated yet simple look demands attention on the red carpet. And with hair health being one of the main focal points of 2025 hair trends, Demi’s straightforward approach to hair may be the way forward.’

6. Pixie Cut
Another short cut cropping up again is the pixie cut. Another red carpet favourite this season, it’s also thought that the pixie falls in line with ongoing nostalgiacore trend. ‘After Emma Stone debuted her sleek crop at the Golden Globes, we’ve seen a surge in love for short, statement-making styles,’ notes Suzie McGill, International Artistic Director of Rainbow Room International. ‘The pixie cut has a bit of a 90s vibe, with icons such as Toni Braxton and Halle Berry previously rocking this look – and we are now seeing it evolve into a modern, versatile look with many variations. At its core, the pixie cut is all about precision and personalisation.
‘It’s essential for stylists to consider a client’s face shape and hair type when tailoring the cut, as each variation requires a deep understanding of individual features to truly enhance and complement them. Personalisation is key to making the pixie both flattering and unique.’
