The nail shape has been steadily rising in the ranks of popularity over the last few months, particularly as a special occasion manicure – with technicians using the elongated shape as a bigger canvas for nail art. ‘With social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, beauty enthusiasts can showcase their unique nail art, making stiletto nails a trendy choice for those looking to stand out,’ agrees Holly, who also credits celebrity interest for giving the trend a boost. ‘Cardi B, Rihanna, Kylie Jenner and Billie Eilish have also been rocking stiletto nails, inspiring many beauty enthusiasts to try the look. Their high-fashion, daring styles have certainly put this manicure on the map.’
How To Ask For Stiletto Nails In The Salon (& What To Expect)
Being a common nail shape, it’s easy to simply ask for stiletto nails at your next appointment. ‘When visiting a salon, just let your nail technician know you’re interested in stiletto nails,’ says Holly. ‘It’s always helpful to bring along some inspiration photos to ensure you’re on the same page. Clear communication is key to achieving the desired look.’
The process itself, Holly tells us, is quite meticulous. ‘It typically starts with prepping the natural nails and then applying acrylic or gel extensions,’ she explains. ‘The extensions are shaped into that signature pointy look, filed, and buffed to perfection. Finally, your chosen polish or nail art is applied to complete the transformation.’

‘If you’re feeling adventurous and want to try stiletto nails at home, take your time,’ urges Holly. ‘Start with a basic manicure, ensure your nails are clean, and use quality products for extensions.
