Teresa Tarmey’s Cheslea outpost gets a glowing review

Wondering how stars get red carpet ready? Celebrity facialist Teresa Tarmey holds all the skincare secrets – and her luxurious treatments are now available to book at The Cadogan, A Belmond Hotel. Martha Davies checks it out.

I Tried A Teresa Tarmey Facial At The Cadogan – Here’s What Happened

Teresa Tarmey is the name behind some of the most famous faces in Hollywood. Beloved by celebrities and skincare enthusiasts alike, she offers some of the most sought-after treatments around – but you don’t have to be prepping for a film premiere to experience one of her facials, since she’s opened a rather luxurious treatment room inside The Cadogan, Chelsea.

Following on from her flagship store in Notting Hill, Teresa’s partnership with The Cadogan began in summer 2023, marking her first residency at a London hotel – although she also offers treatments at The Four Seasons in the Maldives. Visitors and hotel guests can enjoy an exclusive menu of Teresa’s most coveted treatments at both outposts, but an updated selection has just launched at The Cadogan; and since even the most life-changing facial likely doesn’t warrant a dedicated trip to the Maldives, I headed to Chelsea to find out what these A lister-approved treatments are all about.

After a stroll down Sloane Street and a lovely chat with the concierge staff in the Cadogan lobby, I was whisked away to Teresa’s treatment room by her expert team. This gorgeous space really sets the tone for the kind of experience on offer: clad in white with swathes of glossy marble, it’s elegant but simple, echoing the kind of no-frills approach to skincare that has earned Teresa her lofty reputation. While these treatments certainly feel indulgent, the emphasis is on results: expect a hands-on session tailored exactly to you.

Some of Teresa’s latest offerings at The Cadogan include a high-tech radio frequency facial and a FACESTIM® treatment, which increases collagen and tones facial muscles without the use of needles – and with limited after-effects. Teresa’s treatments are, in fact, renowned for requiring impressively minimal downtime, delivering near-instant results.

Of course, every consultation is entirely bespoke; you may not, after all, be looking for red carpet-ready skin, but for a more targeted, long-term approach, and Teresa’s team will be on hand to deliver exactly the right treatment. After a chat about my skin concerns, we decided against FACESTIM® – thanks to its enviable tightening effects, it’s favoured by clients looking for an anti-ageing option – and instead I settled in for the bestselling Advanced Facial.

While FACESTIM® involves bipolar radiofrequency, deep thermal heating and muscle contraction to lift the face and boost collagen, the Advanced Facial is centred on micro-needling. First, however, I indulged in a specialist cleanse and a rather delightful facial massage, which preceded a bespoke lactic acid peel to help brighten my skin. This was followed by the careful extraction of blackheads before we moved onto the micro-needling. These particular elements aren’t exactly relaxing, but they’re certainly rewarding: they guarantee a smoother complexion, helping to shrink pores and boost collagen. Plus, they lead into a calming dose of LED therapy, which perfectly rounded off my treatment.

Leaving behind Teresa’s marble clad dreamland and venturing back out into Chelsea, I felt, undeniably, a little sore – the effects of the micro-needling were akin to the feeling of a bad sunburn. Luckily, however, the Teresa Tarmey magic isn’t just a rumour: in less than 24 hours, my face had calmed, the redness had worn off, and my skin felt wonderfully clean and rather radiant. It was just a shame I had no red carpet events to attend…
