Tom Ford has opened its first standalone store in Covent Garden, and as you’d expect from the designer, it’s incredibly slick. Pop in to see the latest innovations from the brand, luxury consultation spaces and treatments, plus Tom Ford beauté exclusives.
What’s Special?
The store design of light and layered grey glass sculpture creates a slick, beauty maze feel about the TF shop, with areas for fragrance and colour on the top floor, and three luxury consultation spaces on the lower ground.
Special features upstairs include augmented reality capabilities to try the latest colour products before actually applying them, plus Tom Ford’s personal scent laboratory in the fragrance room. The interactive scenting installation lines up all of the designer’s signature scents by group, and at the touch a button Tom Ford himself will talk you through the notes, as the shop wall lights up with accompanying animation. The whole experience has a touch of the 007s about it.
Tom Ford Covent Garden
Downstairs check out the makeup room, where you can book personalised makeup services with a Tom Ford Beauty Specialist, which are redeemable against purchase. With light-up mirrors featuring cameras and computer systems, customers can record their makeup applications for use at home as a personalised how-to, which will be sent over after the appointment. Did we mention Mr Bond?
In addition, there’s a VIP event space for private consultations and a full showcase of all the fragrances in the collections. Finally, there’s a grooming room to experience the Tom Ford for Men skincare and grooming collection in a serious luxe setting. Pop in for a range of grooming services from a beard trim to an express facial or a hot town wet-shave. All of these are bookable at tomfordbeauty.co.uk/appointments.
Keep an eye out for store exclusives and collection first-looks, too. At the moment, the store is one of only two locations you can pick up the newest fragrance ‘Fucking Fabulous’, which really lives up to its moniker.
There are worse places to do a spot of Christmas shopping this winter.
