Très sweet

The temptation to book a trip to Paris just got a whole lot sweeter. Literally. While the city’s long list of patisseries are well worth a browse, we’ve got our sights set on a different kind of tasty treat. The plushie kind, to be exact. Jellycat fans are currently flocking to Paris for a chance to see the brand’s viral Patisserie pop-up – here’s why.

What To Expect From The Jellycat Patisserie Paris Experience

A trip to Paris is not without a tasting tour of some of the city’s best foodie hotspots. But why stop at a pain au chocolat, when you could have the whole boulangerie at your fingertips?

Jellycat continues its 25th anniversary celebrations with yet another amuseable pop-up – and this time, it’s all about the cakes, breads and pastries. Where NYC had its diner and London its fish and chip truck, Jellycat is opening up a full patisserie in the heart of Paris.

Those paying a visit to Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann can take the trip up to the fifth floor, where the FAO Schwartz store will play host to the Jellycat Patisserie experience. Modelled after a traditional Parisian patisserie, you’ll find counters and shelves filled with soft toys modelled after various Parisian sweet treats.

Peruse the menu of Jellycat delights and, once you’ve made your choice, head over to the display counter where the team will wrap your order. Your treats will be boxed and wrapped as though they are the real thing, and given a special personalised finishing touch to make the experience all the more special.

Which Jellycat Plushies Will Be At The Patisserie Paris Pop-Up?

As was the case with Jellycat’s NYC Diner and London Fish & Chip Shop, the Paris Patisserie features new products only available at FAO Schwarz Paris. Most excitingly for Jellycat collectors, the pop-up is also home to a selection of exclusive patisserie-themed characters. These include:

  • Collette Tate Au Citron: A lemon tart
  • Brigitte Brioche: A French brioche bun
  • Fleurette Tarte Aux Fraises: A summer tart topped with strawberries
  • Mia Macaron: A strawberry-flavour macaron
  • Max Macaron: A pistachio macaron
  • Mona Macaron: A chocolate macaron

Alongside the patisseries, Jellycat has also stocked the shop with bakery classics and an assortment of never-before-seen boulangerie-inspired soft toy creations. (Because what is a French bakery without a baguette?) Highlights include Étienne Éclair, Margaux Madeleine, Carole Canelé and Milie Mille-Feuille, as well as fan-favourite amuseables Baguette, Pain au Chocolat and Croissant.
