Plus, new mechanical models in 34mm sizes for women
The Swiss watchmaker, founded in 1832, marks its impressive achievement by adding three elegant new timepieces in The Longines Master Collection.
The Longines Master Collection 190th Anniversary
Time flies when you’re making mechanical masterpieces, as Longines knows very well. In the 190 years since the watch brand was founded in Saint-Imier by Swiss watchmaker Auguste Agassiz, Longines has pioneered technical advances, maintained a tradition of elegance, and become renowned worldwide for its quality of craftsmanship.
To mark its 190th anniversary this year, Longines has just released a series of three new watches from The Longines Master Collection. Available in stainless steel and limited-edition 18ct yellow and rose gold versions (of which only 190 pieces of each will be made), the three styles encapsulate the journey of innovation that Longines has gone on since its little workshop was built in St-Imier all those years ago.
Pioneering Technology
The Longines Master Collection was introduced in 2005 to perpetuate the brand’s long watch-making tradition, and is entirely composed of models with mechanical movements. With this heritage in mind, the three anniversary timepieces house a Longines exclusive calibre with a silicon balance spring (like all its automatic watches), which guarantees high-precision timekeeping. All the painstaking craftsmanship of this movement can be admired through the transparent back, which also features a commemorative engraving to mark the 190th anniversary.
Meticulous Workmanship
Following Longines’ great tradition of craftsmanship, special care has been lavished on every detail of the new timepieces. Whether you choose the grained anthracite, brushed grey or sandblasted silver dial, each variation is distinguished by its unique finish and its delicately engraved Arabic numerals. Elegant pink, gilt or blued steel hands mark the passing hours, minutes and seconds, for a timeless aesthetic that’s completed with a soft, anthracite grey leather strap.
These watches are the worthy heirs to the brand’s age-old passion for craftsmanship, as well as encapsulating the rich history of Longines.
Plus, Introducing 34mm Master Collection Versions For Women
The Longines Master Collection has also been expanded to include new, 34mm versions of its classic timepieces for women who love technical watches.
The new automatic model features Longines’ exclusive calibre L888 movement with a 72-hour power reserve, as well as three hands and a calendar. There’s a choice of beautiful dials, from white mother of pearl to blue sun ray, and the option of painted Arabic numerals or diamond hour markers.
A powerful yet elegant watch that will stand the test of time.
