The Country & Town House Responsible Buyers’ Guide
Chantecaille
Les Papillons Nymph Eye Trio, £70 & Les Papillons Lip Sheer, £34
Where have all the butterflies gone? The number of pollinators has quickly dwindled over the years, thanks to toxic pesticides and climate change – posing a worrying dilemma, since they support the regeneration of more than 85 percent of flowering plants, including food crops. This is what has prompted Chantecaille to release its latest line, Les Papillons, in support of two nonprofits that work to conserve butterflies and their habitats: Xerces Society and Butterfly Conservation. Comprised of two eyeshadow trios and four lip sheer balms, these stunning makeup pieces come with the knowledge that you’re supporting a good cause.
Barbour x ERDEM
Barbour x ERDEM Reversible Clover Showerproof Trapeze Jacket, £499
Barbour is no stranger to a collab. But, if its ongoing relationship with Scandi label GANNI is anything to go by, the brand is also rather fond of a sequel. And ERDEM is the latest name to join the double bill club. Following their collaboration for ERDEM’s SS24 runway, the two have once again come together for a new line of outerwear staples. Read more about the collab here.

Hancocks London
Japanese Gold Ojime Bead Necklace, £25,000
Feeling the January pinch? Well, February is just around the corner, and Hancocks London has unveiled its jewel of the month in this antique Japanese Ojime bead necklace, circa 1890, featuring 24 intricately carved beads set in 18ct yellow gold. Originating from the Edo period (1603–1868), Ojime beads were functional cord fasteners for inrō cases, later evolving into decorative art. A wearable masterpiece, and a keep-forever investment, should you have a cool £25K in your piggy bank.

Asprey
Morgan Small Handbag in Soft Grain Leather, £2,995
Did you catch Kate Middleton’s first royal engagement of the year? The royal paid a visit the Royal Marsden Hospital to personally thank the team, who provided her cancer treatment last year. Her appearance was marked by yet another winning style moment: a brown check coat layered over a burgundy dress and matching bag. The bag in question comes from Asprey, a go-to label for the royal. The brand has just released an updated version of its Morgan handbag, now with a clasp lock and chain handle, giving it a sleek appearance perfect for day and night styling.

Model and sustainability advocate Arizona Muse has partnered with Silhouette for the launch, saying: ‘I’m thrilled to collaborate with Silhouette, a company committed to fossil fuel reduction and crafting with materials that are better for our planet.’

Jessica McCormack
4.64ct Emerald Cut Emerald Button Back Ring, £50,000
This week, you likely will have heard (or seen) plenty of chatter around one particular engagement ring style: east-west settings. While jewellery brands have been pitching the design as a burgeoning trend for a while now, it seems the setting has well and truly hit the mainstream. And who do we have to thank? Zendaya, of course. And yes can get a step closer to the actress’s engagement look with the rumoured jeweller who created her very own ring: Jessica McCormack.

Making its debut in episode 2, this KAPITAL jumper (the same brand known for last series’ green smiley face sweater) was worn to breakfast by Winkleman. The original grey colour sadly isn’t available anymore, but you can still snap it up in a warm sandy colourway.
