Giles Deacon Launches Exclusive Fife Arms ‘Munro Capsule’ Collection
British fashion designer and couturier Giles Deacon has created a limited-edition collection for the cult-favourite Fife Arms hotel in Scotland.
The ‘Munro Capsule’ takes inspiration from the romance of the Scottish Highlands, and features a cape made out of the hotel’s own bespoke tartan and tweed, and three bags that used an archival print of the Braemar Gathering (the annual event for the Highland Games) as a starting point. The small collection is created by artisan makers in small batches.

The Prince of Wales Attends the Tusk Conservation Awards 2023 in London
On 27th November, the annual Tusk Conservation Awards took place at The Savoy Hotel, recognising the people making the most difference when it comes to protecting Africa’s wildlife.
The event was hosted by wild animal biologist and natural history broadcaster, Liz Bonnin, and attended by the charity’s Royal Patron, the Prince of Wales, who launched the awards in 2013. He took to the stage to reveal this year’s winners, pay tribute to their work and present them with their trophies.
He said: ‘Africa, its people, and its biodiversity are disproportionately affected by the impacts of a warming planet. Impacts which are, for the most part, not driven by those most affected. Those living in Africa emit just a quarter of the emissions than that of the average global citizen. Yet the African continent is set to incur disproportionate loss and damage from climate change. But we do have the power to change this, and the stories we have heard tonight provide both optimism and hope. By investing in nature-based solutions we can help mitigate the worst effects of our warming planet and put it back on a healthier path.’
Also in attendance at the Savoy Hotel were Tusk Ambassadors Katherine Jenkins OBE, Marchioness of Bath, Emma Weymouth, Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, Sally Wood and Jack Savoretti.
The award winners were:
– Ekwoge Abwe (Cameroon) for the Prince William Award for Conservation in Africa, sponsored by Ninety One
– Fanny Minesi (Democratic Republic of the Congo) for the Tusk Award for Conservation in Africa, sponsored by Defender
– Jealous Mpofu (Zimbabwe) for the Tusk Wildlife Ranger Award, sponsored by the Nick Maughan Foundation

Berry Bros. & Rudd Celebrates 325 Years With Exclusive Laphroaig Bottling
One of Britain’s oldest and most prestigious brands, Berry Bros & Rudd is celebrating its 325-year anniversary this year – it was founded in 1698, in the time of George I, by a woman known only as Widow Bourne.
To celebrate this historic birthday, the brand has released an exclusive bottling handpicked by its Chair, Lizzy Rudd, and derived from the renowned Laphroaig Distillery on Islay. The whisky itself has been patiently maturing since 1999 to create exceptional depth, complexity, and character.
‘We started bottling casks under our label in the early 19th century so to celebrate our 325th anniversary, we wanted to offer something truly exceptional,’ says Lizzie. ‘This exclusive bottling from Laphroaig is a testament to our long-standing commitment to curating the finest spirits.’
Rob Whitehead, Spirits Buyer at Berry Bros. & Rudd, added:
‘Every so often, when tasting through our repository of casks, one barrel begins to separate itself from the pack. When this happens, it feels beholden on us to find the ideal moment for such casks to shine at their brightest. Selflessly tasting an earmarked special cask repeatedly over several years helps us to pinpoint the optimum age for bottling – thus capturing the whisky at the height of its development. We had been tracking this barrel for a while and, with unknowable serendipity, its particular apogee coincided with our 325th anniversary celebrations.’
