Totes from two great British brandsÂ
Cambridge Satchel has created a series of leather mini totes to celebrate 200 years of the National Gallery. The handcrafted bags feature smash hits from the gallery’s permanent collection of great paintings, from Monet’s subtle waterlilies on the water to a vibrant mustard yellow version framing Van Gogh’s Sunflowers. Most striking perhaps in the mini tote featuring Whistlejacket by George Stubbs, with chocolate brown handles.

Connolly collaborates with Knitwise
This December, Connolly’s shop windows in Mayfair are devoted to a collection of 20 shawls hand-knitted by Knitwise, the initiative from the Kings Foundation and the Joseph Ettedgui Charitable Foundation to support knitters across the UK. The designs, each one initialled by its maker and with a poem by British writer Charlie Child attached on a paper tag, are based on the rare Taatit symbols and motifs of Shetland, with all proceeds going to Age UK and Age Scotland, helping keep the elderly warm this winter.
Each shawl knitted by hand
in the shadow of the glens
where the scent of pines
and cold dew
hang to the mist at dawn.
Warmth knitted into each thread
by these women
through their hours
of tenderness and care.
Warmth beyond our touch.
Connolly’s project with Knitwise is available to buy online and in store at Connolly, 4 Clifford Street, W1S 2LG.
