Here's when we will be able to visit

When Amanda Holden and Alan Carr joined forces to present their Italian Job in 2023, it felt like a match made in heaven. They teamed up to renovate some of Italy’s infamous €1 dilapidated properties, transforming two rundown Sicilian flats into one chic apartment (on the market for €145,000, with all proceeds split between Children in Need and Comic Relief) in series 1, and taking to northern Tuscany to transform a €1 townhouse into a three-story marvel reportedly priced at €220,000 in series 2. But for their third project, it’s over to a different European peninsula: the Iberian. Amanda & Alan’s Spanish Job whisks us off to sun-soaked Andalusia as the duo breathe fresh life into their most ambitious project yet: a 2000 sqft three-story townhouse with a roof in need of repair and a crumbling out building. The duo wants to transform it into a B&B – but will they achieve their goal? And where is Amanda and Alan’s Spanish property? We’ve got the intel…

Where Is Amanda & Alan’s Spanish B&B?

Amanda & Alan’s Spanish B&B is in Moclín, a small village in the Granada countryside, nestled around 90km northeast of Malaga, and around 200km due east of Seville. Arranged around a steep slope, Moclín is crowned by a Moorish castle, which dates back to the 13th century and towers more than 1,000 ft above sea level.

Moclín is one of many Andalusian areas suffering de-population, as youngsters move to the cities to seek work. Amanda and Alan are hoping to remedy this, highlighting an unloved region just a stone’s throw from the overtouristed Costa del Sol to tourists looking to step off the beaten track.

While the duo enlists a team to spearhead the renovation – including Sicily-based project manager, Scott Thompson – they’ll also be getting their hands dirty with some DIY, pushing themselves out of their comfort zone in pursuit of magic. Fittingly for this historic region, the interiors will draw on the archetypal Moorish style, especially with the help of expert tiler Lee Thornley. Founder of specialist tile company Bert & May, Lee knows everything there is to know about tiles and design, and part of Amanda and Alan’s inspiration for their B&B project came from Casa la Siesta (nap house), Lee’s award-winning boutique hotel hidden in the Cadiz countryside and decorated top to toe with reclaimed tiles.

But Amanda & Alan’s Spanish Job isn’t just about the renovation: the duo will also showcase everything this magnificent pocket of Spain has to offer, from the Sierra Nevada mountains to whitewashed coastal villages and historic Moorish towns. This being Spain, we can also expect plenty of sangria, flamenco, delicious cuisine and sunshine.

‘It’s wonderful how often I’m stopped in the street and told how much people love our show,’ Amanda said when the series was first announced in April 2024. ‘Alan and I have the best time filming it and to have reached series three already is beyond the dreams of our lockdown pitch to the BBC! By day we love getting our hands dirty knocking down walls and lugging around power tools knowing we’ll be sipping on an ice-cold reward by night, forgetting the cameras are rolling! Bring on the Spanish sun, we can’t wait to get started and continue to help Comic Relief and Children In Need along the way.’

‘It’s always exciting when a show you love gets recommissioned but the fact that we will be bringing our unique DIY expertise to a whole different country makes it even more special,’ Alan added. ‘We are saying ciao for now and Hola España! Can’t wait to grab our power tools and get our hard hats on and bring some much needed TLC to a casa in Spain!’

Can I Stay At Amanda & Alan’s Spanish B&B?

Not yet – but soon. Once Amanda & Alan’s Spanish Job has wrapped up on 14 March, the Moclín property will be listed for sale on Granada Village & Country and featured on Rightmove. Once sold, we assume the new owners will set to work opening it as a B&B as the duo intended. As always, proceeds from the sale will be split between Children in Need and Comic Relief.

Interested in snapping it up yourself? Visit granadavillageandcountry.com to register your interest in the property ahead of it being marketed at the end of the series.

If Moclín has captured your heart, another TV star is currently being sold by Granada Village & Country: Casa de los Mosaicos (mosaic house), an artist’s three bedroom village house set to appear on A Place in the Sun and currently listed for €98,000.
