Ibiza's villa scene has an exciting newcomer

Fincadelica has welcomed a new villa to the family in the form of Fincadelica Xarraca, and as expected, it’s stylish, it’s ultra-luxurious, and it has plenty of White Isle allure. With its enviable location that overlooks the shores of Cala Xarraca Bay, set amongst fragrant pines on the northwest side of Ibiza, this property oozes Ibizan panache and retro charm. After all, it was the only Spanish property to be shot by the infamous American high society photographer Slim Aarons, so it channels mid-century design and high society vibes.

STAY

New for 2024, meet Fincadelica Xarraca – and it’s not any old finca, it’s a fabulously gorgeous finca, not to mention a design lover’s dream. Brought to you by Mati Rachminov and Serena Cook, they want to reinterpret high-end hospitality with Fincadelica Xarraca, and their historic 300-year-old Ibicencan farmstead, Fincadelica San Lorenzo.

For Serena, luxury to discerning travellers is all about exclusivity, soul, and seamlessness. ‘We have taken iconic heritage properties and created discreet and decadent worlds within worlds, using sumptuous, unique furniture and design,’ she says. ‘Yet from a service point of view, we have created a villa where our guests will have a hassle-free experience similar to a five-star hotel. The extraordinary scope, privacy, and attentive service that our two properties provide will ensure a stress-free villa holiday. The ultimate summer party place, where you can dance till dawn, an immersive well-being or work away retreat, or simply have the opportunity to surrender to glorious solitude. And crucially to our location and the spirit of bohemian Ibiza, both of our properties offer an authentic standard of soulful hospitality.’

Fincadelica Xarraca

Fincadelica Xarraca is set on the shores of Cala Xarraca in northern Ibiza, the home to barefoot bohemian luxury that really elevates the villa game and spanning 3,000 sqm, it’s one of the largest beach-side properties on the island. Here, expect a pink checkered tiled kitchen with a fully stocked pantry and wine cellar to deliver all your F&B needs, along with a spacious open-plan living and dining room, a soundproofed bar/club room, and eight individually designed light-filled bedrooms that don ocean views.

The showstopper bedroom comes in the form of the 110 sqm penthouse with wrap-around sea views from its terraces, a bathtub and sinks in black clay by Studio Loho, topped off with a freestanding custom bed, complete with 1000 thread count bedlinen, and two Valentine Schlegel inspired fireplaces. There’s also a statement tower to this finca that houses two bedrooms, half-moon in shape with romantic arched windows, Juliet balconies, separate living rooms and huge bathrooms.

Then there’s an array of terraces that offer classic Mediterranean indoor/outdoor living, ideally positioned for catching the rays on a sun lounger or entertaining with friends. One of the best bits? Well, not only does the villa overlook the hidden bay and its clear waters from every window, but it also has direct beach access via a private gate, so the beach is only a few steps away.

Another highlight is the design of the Finca, which has undergone a highly considered and respectful refurbishment to preserve this Ibizan jewel of a property. Leading on the design was Carmen Straatsma of Studio C Ibiza who describes the villa as ‘Slim Aarons vibes but here and now, with some extra Ibiza spice’. For this, she has combined neutral tones with natural textural touches and soft lighting; think rustic wooden doors, traditional Sabina beams, metre-thick stone walls painted in light taupe, combined with floor-to-ceiling arched windows. Then she’s punctuated the property with incredible one-off vintage pieces and contemporary art. Look to the living spaces for velvet Arflex Marenco sofas and the connecting library with a Angela Damman limited edition KAU chair (an edition of 10) and GUBI croissant chairs, while vintage Murano glass pendants hang in the dining room above a custom-made table by Can Castello and Casa Miday chairs.

Head next door for the party area AKA club room with a sumptuous, retro-vibing round sofa bed, and a green chenille croissant sofa by Hans Hopfer for Wiener Werkstatte that perfectly coordinates with the slick green marble countertop. And joyously, all these elements come together to create a homely feeling in an oh-so-stylish setting.

Outside Fincadelica Xarraca there are varying levels of terraces and walkways with planting of succulents and cacti, as well as olive and palm trees for visual appeal. Further highlights include the outdoor terrace with a bar that is a picture-perfect spot for al fresco dinners and drinks. The pieza de resistencia? Well, it has to be the beautiful, thoroughly retro saltwater pool that’s dotted with cabanas and Tuuci striped parasols around its perimeter, and of course, an additional pool bar because it’s Ibiza.
