As Storm Bert leaves a trail of havoc in his wake across the UK this week, what sounds better than a frolic across the continent? As the rail renaissance continues, train travel holidays are in higher demand than ever – and they’re easier to access, too, all thanks to Interrail by National Rail, a relatively low-cost comprehensive pass giving travellers simple access to trains across 33 European countries. And now Interrail passes are even cheaper: a limited-time sale is now on, with bookings valid for the next 11 months. Here’s what you need to know.

Interrail Black Friday Sale: 25% Off Passes

Plotting out your 2025 adventures? Time to incorporate a train-based adventure into your plans: Interrail has just launched a huge Black Friday sale, offering customers a whopping 25 percent off Interrail Global Passes and select One Country Passes. Whether embarking on a solo adventure, a romantic getaway or an excursion in a group, train travel injects a dollop of freedom and thrill to European holidays.

Interrail Global Pass Vs. One Country Pass

What’s the difference between the two passes on offer? The Interrail Global Pass gives travellers access to unlimited travel on the national railways of 33 countries across Europe, plus some ferry lines. The cheapest form of this pass (for a Youth [aged 27 or under] travelling in second/standard class) is normally priced at £180, but is reduced to £134 in the sale, giving the traveller access to four travel days (within which unlimited travel can take place) within one month. However, different passes offer new variations at a higher price, including first class travel and more travel days.

The Interrail One Country Pass, on the other hand, offers travellers the chance to delve deeper into one of 30 participating countries’ culture, with unlimited access to one nation’s rail network from £50 normally – or just £37.50 in the sale.

Discount examples during the Interrail sale include:

  • Interrail Youth 7 Day Pass: now £182, was £243
  • Interrail Family (1 Adult + 1 Child) 7 Day Pass: now £243, was £324
  • Interrail Family (2 Adults + 2 Children) 10 Day Pass: now £570, was £760
  • Interrail Adult 7 Day Pass: now £243, was £324
  • Interrail Senior 7 Day Pass: now £219, was £292

Where & When?

It may be a Black Friday sale, but Interrail’s sale is running from 6am on 26 November until 23.59 on 17 December at myinterrail.co.uk/sale, encapsulating Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Travel Tuesday and more. Interrail Global (offering unlimited travel on railways across 33 participating countries) and selected One Country passes will be available – all making the perfect Christmas gift for the experience lover in your life. Digital passes can be purchased during this sale window but don’t need to be activated for 11 months, meaning you can travel whenever you please in 2025. However, if you purchase a paper pass, the date you intend to start travelling must be confirmed when you purchase it.

Note that One Country Passes for the following countries will not be available with a 25 percent discount: Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland and Germany.

Before you purchase, it’s also worth noting that compulsory reservations and/or supplements apply on certain trains – including Eurostar, high speed services and sleeper trains, for example. This means you may have to pay additional fees to travel on certain trains with your Interrail Pass.
