And now you can too…
If you’ve ever wondered where celebrities and royals like to go on holiday, Mustique is a pretty good place to start. This luxury Caribbean island has played host to everyone from Kate Moss to Princess Margaret – and now its biggest villa is available to rent. Here’s everything you need to know.
Mustique: A Villa On This Celeb-Approved Island Is Now Available To Rent
The only thing better than a luxury holiday home is a luxury holiday home in the Caribbean – and this one just happens to be located on the breathtaking island of Mustique, a vacation spot beloved by rockstars and royals alike.
Set in the glittering waters of St Vincent and the Grenadines, Mustique was purchased by the British aristocrat Colin Tennant (who later became Lord Glenconner) in 1958. Tennant then gifted Princess Margaret a ten-acre plot on the island, and by the 1970s, Mustique had become the Princess’ most beloved holiday destination – it was even featured in The Crown. Celebrities still flock to Mustique: Sir Mick Jagger visits frequently, and Kate Moss was seen celebrating her 50th birthday party there earlier this year.
There are around 120 villas across the island, many of which serve as holiday lets – including Mustique’s largest villa, which you can now rent out at the rather hefty price of £100,000 per week.
Known as The Terraces, this sprawling property is perched on a hilltop within a 17 acre private plot. Inside, you’ll find nine opulent bedrooms, all of which are complete with dressing rooms and ensuite bathrooms. There are multiple reception rooms alongside a huge kitchen and a grand dining room, and you’ll spot jaw-dropping features throughout, from marble colonnades and Greco-Roman statues to Murano chandeliers, Renaissance furniture and even hand-painted murals.
Of course, every holiday home needs a pool, and this one is rather spectacular: expect an enormous infinity pool commanding gorgeous sea views. Nearby, there’s a separate building containing a whole host of amenities including a cinema, games room and pool table (and another swimming pool for good measure). The estate also features a tennis court and a collection of guest cottages providing four further bedroom suites and a third pool.
In true Mustique style, The Terraces isn’t just a villa, it’s practically a palace – especially as it also comes with a team of 18 staff (including two butlers, three chefs and six housekeepers). It’s no wonder this magnificent island is a celebrity hotspot.
The Terraces is available to rent from £100,000 per week and sleeps 18. For further information and reservations please call The Mustique Company UK Office on +44 207 201 6831 or visit mustique-island.com.
