The White Lotus Season 2’s Sicily Hotel Has Launched A Bar Inspired By The Series

San Domenico Palace, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel attracts fans of The White Lotus from across the globe – and now there’s another reason to visit

HBO’s The White Lotus is famous for its opulent settings. The first season was created during the pandemic, making the most of the entirely empty Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea to shoot what would become an Emmy award-winning series and mark the beginning of a lucrative new property for the channel’s bosses, the series’ creator Mike White, and luxury hotel brand Four Seasons.
Season 2 was similarly critically acclaimed, shot in the lavish San Domenico Palace, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel – set in a small town perched high above the cliffs in east Sicily, a honeypot for the kind of moneyed American holidaymakers we see on screen. Flash forward to season 3, and it’s the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui’s turn in the spotlight (with some supplementary shooting in three Anantara hotels, too).
To celebrate season 3, the Four Seasons revealed at the end of 2024 it would be setting up some immersive themed experiences for guests across the globe, with California branch Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village the nucleus. But now we know another special pop-up has launched, this time in season 2’s Sicily setting: San Domenico Palace, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel has launched The White Lotus Bar, a sophisticated tribute to the series. Here’s what guests can expect.

The White Lotus Bar At San Domenico Palace, Taormina
Nudging aside its side-hustle as a television star, San Domenico Palace is a sight to behold: one of Europe’s first grand hotels, history thrums through the ancient walls, some of which date back to 1374. Updated with a Liberty-style wing in 1896 and totally refreshed once more when the Four Seasons came aboard much later, modcons like plunge pools, bespoke modern art, automated curtains and lighting, an infinity pool and a subterranean spa make it one of Europe’s most luxurious addresses. Add manicured Italian gardens, panoramic sea views and bougainvillea galore into the mix, and you’ve got one of the most picturesque hotels, too.
When it comes to food and drink, guests can choose from poolside seafood restaurant Anciovi (perfect for a light lunch of ultra refreshing salads and tasty pizzas, accompanied by azure sea-and-sky views), the Michelin-star Principe Cerami (which is more beautiful and delicious than The White Lotus could ever portray), aperitivo with a side of live music in the Grand Cloister, or cocktails in the hotel’s main bar, Bar & Chiostro, home to Mia’s (Beatrice Grannò) grand piano in The White Lotus season 2 and an opulent backdrop for much of the season’s action.
In celebration of The White Lotus season 3, Bar & Chiostro is having a mini makeover. From 14 March to 28 April 2025, Bar & Chiostro will become The White Lotus Bar, home to a special cocktail paying homage to the series’ iconic locations.

The White Lotus Bar Cocktail Menu
Fancy a themed tipple? Guests will find the following on The White Lotus Bar’s cocktail menu:
- The Pineapple Suite: A a tequila-based cocktail with Don Julio Blanco, Pineapple Juice, Lime Juice, Coco Lopez, Turbinado and Ube, paying homage to season 1’s Maui setting
- The Lotus: Tanqueray Gin, Peach Liquor and Jasmine-Infused White Wine, inspired by season 2’s Taormina setting
- Coconut Paradise: Ketel One Vodka, Pandan Lemongrass Cordial, Citric Acid Blend, and Coconut Flakes, giving guests a taste of season 3’s Koh Samui setting.
These will all be shaken up by San Domenico Palace’s Bar Manager Juri Romano, who actually stars as the hotel’s bar manager in The White Lotus season 2 and conceived the recipe for The Lotus. A menu of sweet and savoury tapas will also be available, masterminded by Executive Chef Massimo Mantarro.
For the full White Lotus experience, guests can also expect live piano performances, plus special tarot reading sessions. Hopefully the cards will point to a fate less grave than Tanya’s (Jennifer Coolidge)…
