What Is A Boo Basket?
A boo basket is essentially a gift package which can filled with autumnal and Halloween-themed treats – a bit like an Easter hamper or Christmas Eve box. Created to celebrate the arrival of fall, they’re a sweet seasonal gift for loved ones (or yourself, we’re not here to judge).
And while the trend may be fairly new, it’s quickly gaining steam. On TikTok, creators have made over 87.7 million posts on topic, having taken to posting aesthetic packing videos of personalised boo baskets for friends and family.

What Can You Put Inside Them?
The beauty of a boo basket is its versatility. The goal is to create the ultimate autumn care package, and can taken in several directions: cosy essentials for spending time indoors, wellness gifts for tackling the changing weather, kids’ back-to-school essentials and, of course, Halloween-themed treats for all ages. Think fluffy socks, candles, sweets, crafting kits, soft toys, blankets and slippers.
How To Build A Boo Basket
1. Find A Basket
Start by finding a basket, bucket or bag that fits the theme of your boo basket. You can use traditional wicker baskets, decorative boxes or even themed containers like pumpkin-shaped buckets. Make sure the container is large enough to hold all your goodies – you don’t want all the treats to fall out and ruin the effect.
2. Pick Your Treats
There are no tricks this year, only treats. Opt for crowd-pleasers like cosy socks, soft toys and sweets as your base, and then build up the basket with more personalised picks that the recipient will love. You could also include a note or card with a handwritten message for an extra special touch.

It’s also important to decorate your boo basket to really bring the autumnal theme together. You can add little details like mini pumpkins, ghost figurines and red leafy garlands to the sides and contents of your basket for a bit of oomph.
