What Are Chantilly Nails?
‘Chantilly nails are a style of manicure spotlighting a shade inspired by Chantilly cream,’ explains Lynn Mason, and in-house expert at Mavala. ‘It’s more than just white; Chantilly nails are a super-luxe looking shade that has a really subtle yellow undertone.
‘Following the huge uptake in the clean girl aesthetic, simple, classic and clean shades like this are growing in popularity – largely due to their quiet luxury feel,’ she continues. ‘The goal is to look effortlessly expensive, with healthy nails being a simple way to elevate any look.’

As Lynn mentioned, neutral nail looks continue to be a hot request both at home and in the salon. This is especially true on TikTok, where posts tagged under #cleangirlnails and #creamnailsideas exceed 124.7 million and 70.4 million respectively.
How To Ask For Chantilly Nails In The Salon?
‘At the salon, ask to see all the different white and cream shades they have, then hold up the colours to your skin tone to see which yellow tone compliments the skin most,’ recommends Lynn. ‘I find doing a few at a time will help show up the tone best suited for your skin.’
You can also make a few preparations before your appointment. ‘Before arriving, ensure you’ve been upholding a good nail care routine,’ says Lynn. ‘This will make the nail look even more luxe; up your cuticle oil usage, and remove cuticles regularly for a clean, fresh base.’

How To Recreate The Look At Home
When you’re undertaking any manicure, it’s important to make sure you have a good base. ‘As mentioned, a good nail care routine will make this manicure look even better,’ highlights Lynn. ‘So remove cuticles, keep cuticles hydrated and hands moisturised.’

‘The clean girl aesthetic is here to stay, so I think simple, luxe colours like this will continue to grow in popularity,’ muses Lynn. ‘Light white tones with different undertones such as pink, blue or even sage green will suit for different seasons, and of course the “glazed” trend that took over last year will elevate each of these nail colours to make them more glamourous.’
