Can Cow Print Decor Ever Be Cool?

Chic cow print decor is out there, if you know where to look…

Leopard print has had its ‘Paris grandma’ moment and patterned ceilings might be making a comeback, but there’s one trend that we didn’t expect to see in 2025: cow print. Here’s how to bring this bold bovine pattern into your interiors.
The Cow Print Decor Trend Is Here
Design experts might have plenty to say about DIY projects, colour choices, and even the wackiest of trends, but the emerging penchant for cow print interiors has firmly divided opinions. Yet is it simply the evolution of cowboy core? And could it be set to rival gingham and florals this spring?
Over in the fashion world, cow print was everywhere at Copenhagen Fashion Week – think patterned loafers, skirts, and fluffy jackets – so it’s no surprise that it’s arrived in the interior design space. After all, Google searches for ‘modern ranch interiors’ have been slowly climbing of late, and it looks like the popularity of the rustic, farmhouse-inspired aesthetic has led to a demand for all things cow print.
While it might seem tricky pattern to incorporate into your interiors, the iconic pattern can be the perfect way to tie together a neutral colour palette – or it can become the focal point of a room.
How To Bring Cow Print Into Your Interiors
If you want to nail the cow print trend, the key is to toe the line between quirky and tasteful, seeking out decor that will complement the rest of your space rather than clashing with it. (Farmhouse kitchens might be all the rage, but you probably don’t feel like turning your home into a farmyard.)
So, where do you start? According to Gill Baker, B&Q’s head of decor, cow print brings a ‘warm, organic look that fits seamlessly into any home style, adding a playful yet sophisticated edge to your space.’
It’s surprisingly versatile, too. Thanks to its earthy tones, Gill notes, it allows you to ‘lean into a full Western-inspired interior, or just add a subtle touch of texture.’
From rugs, throws and cushion covers to armchairs and pouffes, there are plenty of avenues to explore. ‘You could start small with a faux-hide ottoman, or make a bigger statement with a bold faux cowhide rug,’ says Gill. ‘Either way, it’s a fun and stylish way to bring character into your space.’
Mo(o)ve over, cowboy core – cow print core has arrived…
