Pink and green deserve to be seen

From matcha pancakes to matcha skincare and Blank Street’s viral Daydream Latte, it’s safe to say that the matcha craze is here to stay – and it’s providing plenty of inspiration in the interior design world, too. Our latest obsession? The strawberry matcha aesthetic. Here’s everything you need to know.

Interiors Inspiration: The Strawberry Matcha Aesthetic

While earthy tones and creamy green shades were among the biggest design trends expected in 2025, strawberry matcha-inspired decor feels like a bit of a wildcard. Can the foodie trend really translate into paint colours and homeware?

Fans of Scandi minimalism might resist, but there’s plenty to love about the pink and green aesthetic. After all, as the season finally changes and we welcome pastels, biophilia, and anything with a touch of whimsy, strawberry matcha just might be the spring interiors look we’ve all been waiting for.

Matcha green itself is certainly becoming a hot topic in the design world this season, especially following the popularity of pistachio colours. ‘Injecting a new colour into your living space is a great way to re-energise your home in spring, and my favourite shade for 2025 is a clean, fresh matcha green,’ says Michael Rolland, managing director at The Paint Shed. ‘A rich colour like Farrow & Ball’s Yeabridge Green can be both energising and soothing, and it will also reflect the light beautifully, helping you to make the most of the longer days.’

How To Style Strawberry Matcha In Your Home

So, you’re ready to take the plunge and incorporate the strawberry matcha aesthetic into your interiors, but where do you start? And where do the strawberry shades fit in?

‘The best way to style a matcha green shade is to embrace its fun and bright qualities,’ advises Michael. ‘Pairing it with neutral colours like beige and cream will make it pop, but warmer and brighter tones will really complement the green.’

While using decor and soft furnishings is the easiest way to jump on the strawberry matcha trend, there’s always the opportunity to paint cabinets, side tables, and even feature walls – though it’s important to consider where the natural light will come from in home, says Michael. ‘Avoid using it in a room which is on the darker side, as this colour very much thrives in the sunshine.’

Whether you’re going for a mismatched, quirky look or an ultra-feminine palette, the strawberry matcha aesthetic can provide plenty of inspiration. ‘Pairing the green shade with pink will strike the perfect balance between vibrancy and softness,’ Michael confirms.
