Très chic
Have you caught up on Emily in Paris yet? (And, if not, why not?) While the onscreen drama takes the spotlight this season, it’s often at risk of being upstaged by the cast’s signature bold fashion choices. With severe wardrobe envy a very real thing post-watch, we can’t help but wonder: where did Emily get her fits? And where can we get a slice of the action? We look back on some of the most memorable outfits from Emily in Paris season 4 so far, and offer up some resale and rental alternatives to style at home.

How Are The Outfits For Emily In Paris Created?
All of the vibrant fashion choices on the show come courtesy of costume designer Marylin Fitoussi. But while many of the items onscreen are carted out by the costume department, a number also come from real-life, high-flying fashion houses (including a few smaller Parisian gems). Fitoussi is known for calling in items from current seasons too; in season 4, for example, the costume designer pulls on a number of AW23 designer pieces, which would have been released not too long before filming started in January 2024. In other words, this means that a handful of the items worn onscreen can still be bought in-store and rented online.
What’s Different This Season?
Those with an eagle eye will have noticed that season 4 of Emily in Paris looks different. According to Fitoussi, Emily Cooper undergoes something of a mature transformation, leaning more heavily into French styles and aesthetics (without compromising her signature bold fashion choices). Speaking to Fashionista, the designer commented how: ‘[Emily’s] much more in control, maybe much more powerful… I think what will define the new season is this masculine-feminine twist that we never had before.’
In another conversation with ELLE, she added how Emily is looking to ’embrace, a little bit, the French culture’ both in her wardrobe and her personal life. ‘This young American girl is saying, “Oh, the high-waisted trousers with the wide legs…[can] I take it and do it in my own style?”‘
How To Recreate The Outfits From Emily In Paris
With this in mind, where can you buy Emily’s wardrobe from Emily in Paris? As mentioned, many of the clothes, shoes and accessories flaunted on the show can still be hunted down in shops. But why scramble for the ‘New In’ section when you can breeze your way through hundreds of rental and resale options instead? And to make the temptation even sweeter, we’ve done the hard work for you: scroll on for the (re)style guide to recreating Emily’s outfits in Emily in Paris.
Emily's Blue Suit
We’ve been obsessed with Emily’s blue suit ever since the first trailer for season 4 dropped. Channelling this season’s column dressing trend – aka, building an outfit entirely around one colour – the marketing exec can be spotted walking around Paris in a cobalt blue Barbara Bui suit and matching satin blouse. She ties the outfit together with a pair of cowboy-adjacent pointed-toe boots from Paco Rabanne and a Pierre Hardy handbag.
The Dual-Tone Look
If there’s one thing Emily does well, it’s colour. And the best way to make colour pop? Add more, of course. On a day split between the office and breakfast with Mindy, the ex-pat pulls together a kelly green floral Philosophy Di Lorenzo Serafini bustier top and shorts set alongside a teeny tiny pink Jacquemus cardigan. This is teamed up with a pair of Nodaleto closed-toe pumps decorated with delicate flowers, and a green-and-white stripe Kate Spade tote.
The Yellow Outfit
Back to column dressing – but make it a double. Here, Emily swaps out her blue suit for a sunny yellow number, comprised of ruffled blouse from Marlene Bruger and an Isabel Marant corduroy skirt, over which she throws on an oversized wax jacket from Parisian label Possery. The look is finished off with check Marni socks, platform Sergio Rossi heels and a Lelet NY pony cuff in her hair. All in yellow, of course.
But it’s the maxi fringe bag on her arm that is arguably the hero of this look. Hailing from Silvia Tcherassi, it features a quilted body and metal bangle strap, with multicoloured strands warerfalling from the bottom in a rainbow of colour.
The 70s Blouse
A moment for the blouse. This vintage-drenched beauty comes courtesy of La Double J, and features ruffled sleeves, and oversized Peter Pan collar and tie front – and even comes with a chic cape, also worn by Emily later in the show. She doubles up on the 70s colour palette with the addition of a pair of green leather shorts from Manokhi.
The Office Ensemble
Now for a sneak peek of what to come. One visit to the office sees Emily with a new colleague at the office (Genevieve, played by Thalia Besson), during which she wears a long red leather jacket, a floral black and white tie and check shirt from Marni. Alongside her signature beret, on her arm Emily wears a fur lined shoulder bag from Ozias.
