Where to get your seasonal kicks
What do you have kicking about in your wardrobe? If the answer is a ratty pair of trainers (completes with holes and mud stains), then it might be time to set your sights on new horizons. And when it comes to fall sneakers, these are the must-haves.

Fall Sneakers 2024: The Trainer Trends Taking Over
This season will see a clash of trends both old and new – but one thing will remain a top priority: comfort. We want to make sure the style of our favourite sneakers does not compromise their wearability. The goal is look and feel good. Think retro vibes, 2010s lifts and year-long neutrals teamed up with flashy metallics, bows and autumnal hues. Find your pair with our roundup of the best fall sneaker trends below:

Adidas (Fall's Version)
Samba season is still going strong. The internet’s favourite retro sneaker (closely followed by the equally coveted Gazelle and Spezial) gets a fall makeover as we shift into September. Think autumnal colour palettes spearheaded by burgundy, aubergine and khaki, as well as a greater emphasis on the material of the moment: suede.
Seasonal Neutrals
Speaking of seasonal shades, the ultimate colour crush for AW24 is a ‘very demure, very mindful’ set of neutrals. Oatmeal, cream, khaki, brown and beige. These earthy shades pair up perfectly with an autumn capsule wardrobe, but also offer the bonus of longevity. Providing the perfect canvas for minimalism and maximalism, these will be trainers that go with every outfit, occasion and season.
Coquette Trainers
Even the girly girls need to keep their toes toasty. The style set’s coquettisms continue to circulate in the trend cycle – but this time, it’s all about the trainers. Swap out your shoelaces for ribbons, stick to shades of sugarplum pink and top it all off with a big, bouncy bow. Gola’s ribbon-laced trainer collaboration with Athropologie and JW Pei’s ballerina sneakers are the style inspiration.
All-Over Metallics
Shiny swathes of gold, silver and bronze always make an appearance around party season. But where we usually get our thrills amongst rails of dresses and shelves of heels, metallic sneakers will be hot on the heels of this trend come autumn. Silver especially ranks high on the list of colours, taking over in all-over shine (rather than just metallic cut-outs).
Platforms & Wedges
We’re all standing a little taller this fall – thanks to our sneakers. There’s nothing wrong with a little extra lift, especially when it looks so stylish. And while platforms, admittedly, have been on-trend for a few seasons now, they’re joined by a (controversial) ally: the chunky wedge. The mid-10s staple is getting a fresh start, with an elevated silhouette rooted in comfort.
